On an ordinary morning in the summer of 2022, I rose with the sun and ventured to the seashore. Within the ten-minute drive, the shimmering sun began to fade and I was enveloped by the gray, dense coastal fog that frequently blankets this beach. And although I’d spent countless hours wandering the coastline sharing many of my stories with it, this was the first time it offered me a story of its own.
I did not set out to write Come to Me Called the Sea. Come to Me Called the Sea seems to have been looking for a willing partner and I just so happened to show up, tune into its frequency, and get my pen out.
This little book - for any age - is a message from the sea and was brought to life as a catalyst to connection. I believe the deeper our relationship is with the more-than-human world, the greater our chances are for healing ourselves and our planet.
